Jodhpur

Our day started early, the train departed at 6h15, we rushed to the train station using the rickshaw that Padam got us. We arrived at the station 50 minutes before the departure, while waiting for the train we met Jonathan, a Brazilian guy that is also travelling around India. It was really nice to meet someone that speaks our language, curiously Jonathan also met Tim, our french friend from the Camel safari. We exchanged experiences and wished each other a nice trip. It's weird how we connect to people and we say goodbye a few minutes/hours later hoping to be lucky to meet again.
We went on the 3AC type of train so we had our own beds, this time we decided to jump to the top births/beds, that way we would be able to sleep and no one would disturb us. Said and done, best trip ever... we slept almost the entire journey.

When we arrived to Jodhpur, we thought we would be able to visit a lot... we only had 1,5 days in Jodphur but we slept a lot so we should be ok but everything happened on another way. Maybe because we were still tired from the Camel Safari and due to the huge walk we did on the day before, Kika's feet/legs were killing her.. she tried to walk for a while but every step she took the worst she felt... we had lunch and decided to go back to the hotel and take some rest. We went out for dinner and enjoyed a nice rooftop with a great view to the Jodphur fort - Meherangarh. During that day we only visited the clock tower and walked around a few streets. We saw monkeys in the street, seems like monkeys are a normal thing here in Jodphur. We also saw something very intriguing, a huge hole (50 meters deep) in the middle of the city full of stairs around it and with water at the bottom with kids jumping to it as if it was a swimming pool. We asked Immy, the owner of our guesthouse, if he knew what it was but no one really knows where that water comes from.. the government  is actually going to dry the "swimming pool" to try to understand it's origin. Other than that, the day was basically to take some rest and hope to be able to enjoy the next day.

The second day also didn't go as expected, we went for breakfast next to the clock tower (we had an amazing Lassi) but our bellies were not feeling very well. We went back to the room and we both had serious conversations with the toilet...  curious about the city but not wanting to take big risks we decided to visit the fort and come back.

Another curious fact about Jodphur is it's color, a lot of houses around the city are painted in blue. A high cast family started the trend, believing the blue color would protect buildings from insects and to keep them cool in the summer. Over the time, other families followed the trend and the city became the Blue City.

In a year trip we understand that not all stops are going to be as expected, it's on us to take the maximum possible out of it. We decided not to go to extremes and hopefully we will enjoy Puskar a little bit more.

Still there are a few pictures, not as much as on the other places though....
